Welcome to The Coolest People in the World - Blog & Podcast
Hey! I’m Krystle - creator of The Coolest People in the World.
I came up with this idea at the end of 2023 when I spontaneously and haphazardly got involved in the podcasting world following a few years of rapid career growth in the media industry.
At the time, I was in my 8th year of contributing to a local publication where I had built a portfolio beyond my wildest imagination. During those years, I had the privilege of telling hundreds of incredible stories about the people in my community.
As a former blogger [I had pretty successful blog called Skinny Jeans Dreams from 2010-2014] and author, I relished the opportunity to use my gifts to help elevate the stories of others for a change.
Along the way, I got to sit with artists, chefs, karate masters, farmers, organizational leaders, teachers, change-makers, record-setting athletes, international teachers, and more. The stories I’ve had the honor of telling now hang in dozens of homes and businesses in and around South Jersey.
My writing led me to a seat at the table as a co-host on a radio station in the same South Jersey area, which ultimately led me back to a global platform with podcasting.
Like the kid in the universe-sized candy shop that I tend to be, I leaped before I looked.
When I was offered a mentoring deal I couldn’t refuse to launch my own show, I came up with this cool name, some t-shirts and a logo, I already had a huge guest list of people I wanted to feature and an audience eager to hear what I had to say.
I was off to the races.
You know what happens when you tell God/The Universe about your plan, right? See,I knew the WHAT - the idea was thrilling and came to me easily. I was well aware of what I could do with it given the right platform, a catchy name, and the right idea.
What I tried too hard to do was control the HOW.
I thought I had to do it grand and put on a show… I had a friend do my makeup for my first 5 episodes and sat in a studio where I was coached by someone I trusted to lead me in the right direction. I didn’t even video record the episodes.
(I did get good marketing content, though)
While said person taught me a lot in a short period of time, I soon learned I was climbing the wrong ladder and being led by someone not quite right for ME. I was trying to jump from the tiny seed of an idea to the abundant peach tree because I was hungry for fruit… but the truth was, I needed time to slow down and nurture the seeedling.
You know how it goes…
When you won’t slow down, Life will do it for you.
After 13 episodes and my life at a point where maintaining the show became too big of a challenge for a variety of reasons, I made the hard decision to close the curtain for a while and regroup.
What I didn’t realize was that during that time and space of hibernation, I’d discover the pieces I was missing to complete the puzzle. Now, as I reintroduce you to The Coolest People in the World, I look forward to combining my tools and experiences from the journey to bring a multi-media experience to your inbox right here on Substack, where I am also authoring The Dailey Bailey.
The Coolest People in the World was always intended to be a microphone for those who deserve to have their stories told. It was an invitation for those who experience magic in the every day and encourage others to live their best lives to talk about the things that matter.
So many of the people I’ve met along my journey are the change-makers and the way-makers.. the people who light the path for all of us and inspire us to live out loud. They’re artists and activists, bakers and barrier-breakers…. they’re kitchen cooks and authors of books…poets, teachers, and
I didn’t mean to start rhyming… so I’m letting myself off the hook … ;)
My point is - they’re pretty amazing.
My conversations with such a variety of people has taught me or reminded me of everything there is to know about life.
In good words of God mother Maya Angelou, “We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.”
I’ve been moved to the core by so many of these stories that when I was offered an opportunity to launch a podcast, seemingly overnight, I knew I wanted to highlight the stories and hearts of these individuals - the ones that showed me a piece of their heart, their life’s journey, and trusted me to tell a tiny piece of their story.
Now, in 2025 and beyond, I look forward to putting all my skills to use to do just that - in a new and improved way.
I give you - The Coolest People in the World (2.0)- articles, podcasts, interviews, and interactive experiences with some really COOL people.
As I say - the coolest people in the world are the ones you haven’t met yet.
